20 shoppable ideas from Lucinda Chambers' house

If you have found yourself green with envy at the sight of Lucinda Chambers' effortlessly stylish and comfortable London house, fret not as she shares some of her interiors sources

Houses are not static places, they change and evolve as we do. Nowhere is this more evident or celebrated than in the kaleidoscopic home that fashion stylist and Collagerie founder Lucinda Chambers has created over the last 30 years in west London. Its generous proportions have housed herself and her husband, their three now grown-up sons and a cat, chopping and changing over the course of three decades to work for every stage.

Now, at what Lucinda calls a time of “sailing into calmer waters”, it tells the story of a family's life together, full of pieces collected from flea markets around the world, as well as high street finds that Lucinda has a magpie eye for sourcing. Luckily for admirers of her vibrant style, she's shared some shoppable buys from her house, so we can all get in on the magic formula.

The downstairs living room is painted in cheery red and yellow, which Lucinda let one of her sons pick “at a time when he was obsessed with lego”. Far from layering a muted aesthetic with the bright walls, instead the room is filled with an array of texture and pattern, including rugs and cushions of Lucinda's own design for Colville.

The kitchen is the most neutral room in the house, with off-white walls and cabinets and a tomato red AGA that came with the house. In her characteristic style, a hodge podge of memories and pieces from around the globe mix with high street buys in the light-filled space.

Adjoining the kitchen is by far the brightest room of the house–the dining room, which is a near neon yellow. Lucinda has hung baskets and plates on the walls, and surrounded a pretty wooden farmhouse table with an array of different chairs.

The master bedroom is a pretty space, with soft pinks and natural fibres creating a calming feel. A vintage kantha covers the bed, though a Colville blanket could do the same job. The headboard is a rattan design inspired by peacock feathers.
