A new event is set to open its doors during London's exciting September event calendar. The Design Social, a design pop-up event organiser from across the pond, will make its international debut with the unveiling of London Design Social on Wednesday September 24 and Thursday September 25. Taking place at Chelsea Old Town Hall, the event promises to be the perfect outing for design professionals and design enthusiasts alike.

Meet makers and creatives

From 9am to 4pm each day, visitors can meet the designers and artists behind 38 independent brands. As the event's founder, Brooks Morrison explains, London Design Social ‘offers attendees the unique opportunity to hear participant stories, learn more about their craft and creative processes and explore the inspirations behind their designs firsthand. We hope that London Design Social will enhance personal relationships between independent makers and designers to foster more meaningful sourcing for designers in the UK, just as it has in the US.’

Source products

The pop-up offers access to the very best independent textile, wallpaper and home product brands from the US, the UK and further afield. Many exhibiting brands are members of our international design directory, The List by House & Garden, including Bloomfield Ink, Collier Webb, Farrow & Ball, House of Hackney, McKinnon & Harris, Nushka, OKA and Virginia White Collection.

The talks programme

The event will also feature a programme of talks with a variety of celebrated interior designers and design experts moderated by a host of editors. One such editor is House & Garden's Laura Normanton, who will be in conversation with the renowned interior and textile designer Peter Dunham on 24 September at 10 am. Their chat will be followed by a book signing of Peter's new book, The World of Peter Dunham.
