After a wait of nearly three years, season 2 part 1 of the popular Addams Family spin-off Wednesday premiered on Netflix on August 6. But with only the first four episodes to watch, we have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of part 2. The remaining four episodes will finally be available to watch on September 3. Here’s everything you need to know in advance, from the release time to the cast, including the highly anticipated appearance of Lady Gaga. Warning: there will be spoilers, so if you’re not all caught up on season 2 part 1, you might want to look away now.
When does Wednesday season 2 part 2 come out?
Season 2 part 2 will be released on Netflix on September 3, with all of part 1 already available to watch if you need to catch up. The four episodes that make up part 2 will land on Netflix at 8am BST for those watching in the UK, and at 12am PDT and 3am EDT for viewers in the US. And following the cliffhanger at the end of part 1, it can’t come soon enough…
What will happen in Wednesday season 2 part 2?
At the end of part 1, we left Wednesday lying motionless on the ground, having been thrown from a window of Willow Hill by Tyler Galpin in Hyde form. She was at the psychiatric hospital with Uncle Fester to investigate the mystery of LOIS and the detained outcasts when the fight broke out. Not only does her life seem to hang in the balance, but she has lost of psychic abilities after seeing a final vision of the death of her best friend, Enid Sinclair.
The official trailer for part 2 has revealed that Wednesday has survived the fall (phew!) as it shows her waking up with a new spirit guide by her side – none other than Principal Larissa Weems who who was murdered by Marilyn Thornhill, or Laurel Gates, in season 1. Wednesday will be needing all the help she can get as she continues to unravel the mysteries, evade enemies and save her friend Enid from death. One of the questions on our mind is the identity of the frail and mysterious woman Wednesday met at Willow Hill. Is it her estranged Aunt Ophelia? She has been referenced multiple times already this season, so it would make sense. And we can’t forget the rather eerie voice we hear on the trailer: ‘Beware, there will be a price to pay.’ Is this Lady Gaga? It certainly sounds like her, and the fans seems to agree, but what part will she be playing?

Who will be starring in Wednesday season 2 part 2?
Once again, Jenna Ortega is back in the titular role of Wednesday Addams, alongside her nuclear family: Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, with Victor Dorobantu as Thing. Emma Myers will of course return as Enid Sinclair as will Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester. We are very excited to see Gwendoline Christie reprise the role Principal Larissa Weems, Wednesday’s new spirit guide, and who doesn’t want to see more of Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump? Billie Piper as Isadora Capri, first seen in season 2, is also part of the stellar line-up.
But the star we are all waiting to see is Lady Gaga. It was originally announced that she would play the role of Nevermore teacher Rosaline Rotwood, which might well be true. However, thanks to hints dropped by Jenna Ortega, some fans are now convinced that she is in fact Ophelia Frump – rather than Frances O’Connor who appeared as that mysterious Willow Hill patient. So there’s a lot to unravel and surely plenty of surprises to come along the way.
Will Wednesday be returning for another season?
Good news: Netflix has confirmed that Alfred Gough, Miles Millar and Tim Burton’s drama will be returning for a third season. The release date is yet to be confirmed so watch this space. There have also been rumours of a spin-off (yes, a spin-off of a spin-off, it’s all getting very meta) focusing on Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen. We’re definitely on board.
