Simon Brown9/17Jewel Blue Hallway
A series of large skylights were introduced into the main room and corridor of this 1880's London apartment. The owner decided to raise the height of the doors and instructed that the entrance to the corridor to be raised, converting what had been a dark, rather pinched entrance to the bedrooms into a wonderfully light and airy space filled with books.
Somewhat quixotically, the owner asked specialist painter Matthew Bray to copy the colour of a friend's faded T-shirt when painting the corridor, an unexpectedly perfect accompaniment to the saffron colour living area.

Don't be afraid to mix it up and use a variety of paint shades from the same colour family; similarly, the two-tone scheme can be carried throughout your home via decorative details - think bedspreads, lamps and cushions.
