Equiano’s Co-Founder & Global Rum Ambassador, Ian Burrell, and the mixologists at Trailer Happiness put their heads together to concoct a drink for rum connoisseurs and cocktail drinkers alike, with a name that references the story behind the acclaimed rum. Celebrating freedom, Equiano Rum honours the legacy of its namesake, African-born writer, entrepreneur, abolitionist, and freedom fighter Olaudah Equiano. Having bought his own freedom by selling puncheons of rum, Equiano was declared a freeman in Montserrat, a Caribbean island in the West Indies.
