Charlotte Sanderson has been creating gardens for her clients across the United Kingdom for nearly 25 years. Yet this is a name you may not necessarily know – and that’s just the way she and her clients like it.Charlotte is a leading garden designer, based in Wiltshire. She set up her practice, Charlotte Sanderson Garden Design in 2001, after completing a Garden Design Diploma with Distinction at the Inchbald School of Design. Her Norfolk project was shortlisted for the prestigious Society of Garden & Landscape Designers (SGLD) 2025 Awards in the Planting Design category. The company was also shortlisted for the Pro Landscaper Business Awards 2025. Charlotte is a pre-registered member of the SGLD – the only professional association that represents garden designers in the UK.Charlotte’s designs are often described as bold, enchanting and timeless. She has worked on country estates, town gardens and roof terraces. Recent projects include: a new garden for a barn restoration project in Norfolk next to a Grade I listed Church; a large family garden in Wimbledon with a kitchen garden, swimming pool and the most spectacular tree house; and gardens for 2 private residences in Phillimore Gardens, London.Charlotte and her team pride themselves on their open and collaborative approach with clients. Often working alongside architects and interior designers, they combine forces effectively where required, to go beyond clients’ expectations.Designing with the environment in mind, consideration for the creatures that will inhabit the garden is all part of their process, ensuring that the gardens are not just for people.
