About

Hubert Zandberg Interiors is an interior design and architecture practice, founded eponymously in 2002. It is based in London, where its team of designers and architects works on luxury residential and commercial projects around the world.

The practice eludes simplistic definitions of minimalism and maximalism, in favour of a nuanced and textural approach to interior design, honed over more than two decades in the industry. With a careful consideration of architecture, light and scale, it creates layered spaces that have an atmosphere of harmony, in spite of their richness.

Concept, colour and material come together organically in response to each client’s individual requirements. As such, many art, design and furniture details are created bespoke for the environment in which they are placed, inspired and informed by the project’s unique specifications. Craftsmanship plays an important role in the practice’s ethos, too; the trace of an artisan’s hand elevates both decorative and everyday objects, while making patrons of their owners.

HZI prides itself on applying a collector’s attention to detail to every aspect of a project. Original design objects and prized artworks sit alongside natural artefacts and one-of-a-kind, tailor-made pieces, creating a dialogue of symbolism and subtext. This assembly can be pared back or amplified according to the brief, or the mood.

Authenticity, emotion and a spirit of exchange underpin each project HZI takes on. With a rigorous, meticulous and highly professional approach to even the most complex challenges, the practice prides itself on shaping interior spaces that unlock a client’s own story and style.

Zandberg is a born collector, with an insatiable appetite for ideas, stories and objects. In his work, he combines this lifelong passion with an understanding of his clients’ own curiosity, and a highly efficient pragmatism, shaped by two decades’ experience in interior design.
