Humphrey Munson is a multidisciplinary design, manufacturing and installation practice based in Essex, England with a second showroom in the heart of the Chelsea Design Quarter on the King’s Road in London. They work on projects in the UK with overseas projects spanning the USA, Europe and Africa.Founded by Peter Humphrey in 1995, the name ‘Humphrey Munson’ is partly derived from Joseph Munson, Peter’s great-great grandfather – a master cabinetmaker in London’s East End. Humphrey Munson is able to control the quality of its product and service thanks to the diligence and dedication of Peter Humphrey, an industry leader renowned for his exacting standards.To lead the way in luxury cabinetmaking, HM continually improve every aspect of their work with the goal of being better tomorrow than they are today. What values are important to you in your work?"The design values of symmetry, proportion and simplicity inform each HM project, and crucially, this is layered in with the architecture of the home and the character of the people living there. If you look at HM projects, you’ll see these design principles underpinning each project but it’s the personality of the homeowners and the heritage of their homes shining through."In your opinion, what makes a design timeless?"What makes HM projects truly timeless is their commitment to future-proofing, both in design layout and material quality.
