Linda Fenwick Shell Design

About
Linda Fenwick creates some of the finest shell work in the world, with every piece meticulously crafted and treasured for years to come.It all began in 2010 when Linda completed her first, exquisite Shell House. A personal project and a labour of love. It introduced her to the wonders of working with shells and sparked a passion that has meant Linda hasn’t stopped ‘shelling’ ever since. The finished result of the Shell House immediately brought about her first commission, and she has since created bespoke pieces for some amazing private clients around the world, as well as a myriad of internationally renowned design firms, including Beata Heuman, Buchanan Studio, Katharine Pooley, Kit Kemp, Herlong, David Collins, Todhunter Earle and Colefax & Fowler.Every commission is a collaborative process, and the options are endless depending on the client’s taste: whether they prefer ‘Full Shelling’ (where shells are clustered together in an intense and dramatic way that can adorn a whole area) or ‘Partial Shelling’ (where the shells are carefully arranged in an intricate pattern or motif with a visible background behind). The application is also hugely varied; Linda’s shell work can be seen cladding whole wall panels or individual pieces of furniture, as well as decorative cornicing, window frames, and architectural detailing.Influenced by Georgian and Classical designs, Linda weaves her own contemporary twist into each piece and carefully combines native and exotic shells to create timeless collectables. The methodical and meditative process creates equally mesmerising results with a strong nostalgic allure and intrinsic beauty.
