About

Marcus Gilbert Studio is based in London and Bath, and provides innovative garden and landscape design solutions, which transform and optimise outdoor spaces, enhance lives, property and enrich the natural world we share. Their extensive portfolio includes contemporary, traditional, formal and naturalistic gardens and landscapes of all sizes in London, in towns, in the country and on the coast. Their work is recognisable for its imaginative use of space, strong, pared-down layout, creative treatment of levels and the sensitive integration of natural materials with ever-changing, immersive planting. Buildings are anchored to their landscapes and to their wider environs. Interiors are linked to exterior spaces to flow both practically and visually, creating views and perspectives at all levels from within the house and through the outdoor space. Gardens and landscapes are designed with sustainability and biodiversity at their core. The Studio works closely with top professional landscapers to implement the garden design to the highest standards to ensure a seamless design/build process from conception to completion.

Award-winning designer Lynne Marcus has been designing gardens and landscapes for 25 years. She is a Fellow of the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers and a Member of the British Association of Landscape Industries. She is a Director on SGLD Council, was Chair of the SGD for three years and has been Chair of SGD/SGLD Awards since 2019. Her work has appeared on BBC Gardeners’ World, won many awards and appeared extensively in magazines, newspapers and books at home and abroad. Lynne is now joined by her son Matthew to form Marcus Gilbert Studio.
