About
Founded in 1902, The Romo Group is a British, family run business in its fifth generation. Based in Nottinghamshire, UK, with offices and showrooms across Europe and the USA and an extensive international distribution network, The Romo Group has six established brands, Romo, Black Edition, Kirkby Design, Mark Alexander, Villa Nova and Zinc Textile, all of which have their own unique character and style. In 1902, Robert Mould, who gave his name to the company, started a small-scale furniture manufacturing business in Nottingham, England. By the 1930s, the company had become wholesalers to the upholstery industry, supplying furnishing fabrics and components for the manufacture of furniture. The company continued to evolve until eventually the upholstery manufacturing side of the business ceased completely, and the supply of furnishing fabrics became the company’s primary focus. In the 1980s Romo started its own in-house design studio, injecting a more creative approach to design which redefined Romo as the design-led company it is known as today. The group is currently managed by the founder’s great great grandchildren Felicity, Emily and Jordan Mould. With extensive international showrooms and distribution, The Romo Group has over 370 employees and is recognised worldwide. Customer satisfaction and employee welfare are at the core of the company’s values, and although much expanded, Romo remains very much a family business at heart.
