Crêpe cake with caramel sauce and sesame snaps (Tort Naleśnikowy)
This caramel crepe cake is a great alternative to baking a cake for a special occasion.
This caramel crepe cake is a great alternative to baking a cake for a special occasion, especially as the pancakes can be made in advance and warmed up just before serving. The filling is inspired by the ‘sesame snaps’ of my childhood, another Polish snack, or treat, called sezamki. These are sesame snap biscuits, which are widely available.
This recipe is an extract from The Sweet Polish Kitchen: A celebration of home baking & nostalgic treats by Ren Behan (Pavilion Books).
